Three KU Leuven students, Vincent, Sibren, and Axel, teamed up to start a consultancy called VISIAX. The goal? Help local businesses and discover a real-world problem worth solving. Through this entrepreneurial experiment (and the BRYO program), they hoped to build something scalable. Spoiler: they did.
While working as a SEA specialist, Axel realized Google Ads weren’t reaching younger audiences. He had a lightbulb moment: what if brands could easily work with creators, like his former YouTuber self? That idea became Adshot. Sibren left, new team members joined, and even Addy the mascot was born.
The team focused on gaming companies, combining their own tech with agency services. They attended GamesCom, onboarded creators, and learned fast. But SaaS alone wasn’t enough, clients needed guidance. The highlight? Joining IMEC iStart, securing seed funding, and landing long-term clients.
In late 2020, Adshot shifted from SaaS to full-service influencer marketing agency. The product became an internal tool, the website got a full makeover, and the team leaned into strategy, execution, and reporting. This new approach better met client needs, and felt more natural to the team.
A new site, new services, and big clients defined this phase. Adshot ran award-winning campaigns for Aïki, the Flemish Government, and more. They embraced new formats like Spark Ads and IG Branded Content. In 2023, Adshot won 7 awards and became Belgium’s first TikTok Creative Exchange Partner. Not bad, huh?
