Influencer Marketing
A study programme is much easier to picture once a creator you follow has tried it for you. In spring 2023, five Flemish creators each spent a day in one programme at Hogeschool VIVES, and their videos on the school’s own TikTok invited young people to the info day on 6 May.

What does a student of wellbeing and vitality management actually do all day? For most young people, the name of a study programme says very little. VIVES, a university of applied sciences with campuses across West Flanders, wanted to bring five of its programmes to life on its own TikTok and get young people to its info day on 6 May 2023.
We brought in five creators, each for one programme. Gerben Tuerlinckx’s day started with a long drive, a lab coat, a hairnet and a seaweed croquette that had to survive a strength test in the food technology lab. Jietse Pauwaert played a teacher telling his class about his student years on the Bruges campus, from the huge games library to the student bar, and Angel of Kurkdroog interviewed a wellbeing student between the sauna, the hammam and an African Zumba class.
Bowa practised injections on a nursing dummy instead of on her brother, and Timon Verbeeck explained public safety and criminology in a red bodysuit. All five videos were posted on VIVES’ own TikTok account, and we promoted them as ads with a link to the VIVES website. The creators also shared them in their own Instagram stories. Homework for every viewer: go and see it for yourself.
