Suggest a vegetarian pizza for the whole group, and chances are someone asks where the meat went. Pizza Hut and The Vegetarian Butcher created the Crumble Delight, a pizza with plant-based beef crumble in a veggie and a vegan version, plus No Chicken Nuggets. Pizza Hut wanted flexitarians, people who still eat meat but happily skip it now and then, to give them a try.
We presented the new pizzas as part of a take-out party for the whole group, not as a separate option on the menu. The creators picked up their order at a local Pizza Hut and took it wherever their friends were: Laura Ottevaere to the waterside in Ghent, Paula to the dunes at sunset, Siebe Hannon to a late-night terrace, and Loulou Sucrée to a French-speaking picnic under a wooden shelter in the woods. Several captions gave the same verdict: approved, and surprisingly tasty. It’s a nice reminder that a meat-free pizza is easiest to try as one more box on a shared table, not as a separate choice. No meat, no complaints.
